DANCE CLUB IN BUCKINGHMAHSIRE SCHOOLS

Tuffney Dance Academy run extra-curricular dance clubs and BTEC Dance courses in infant, primary and secondary schools in Bucks, we deliver a variety of work in school’s from musical theatre to street classes often working alongside the curriculum, engaging children in their studies and nurturing individual confidence.

We work alongside the academic year when lessons can take place before school, lunchtime or after school for 45 minutes - 1 hour lessons depending on the time slot available, with numbers ranging from 6 to 20 in each class. Each student pays from as little as £3.00 a lesson payable at the beginning of each term.

Each term culminates with an informal sharing with friends and family, but also often performed in school assemblies and fetes. We also encourage school groups to take part in dance events such as 'Energize' and 'Rock Challenge'.

KEY STAGE 1

Our lessons are designed to teach young children dance technique and performance skills, encouraging them to work with others, explore ideas and expand their imagination. We liaise with staff at the individual schools to work on a new topic each term, we explore different ideas through dance so the students gain a deeper understanding of the chosen topic. It is often useful to conduct a short meeting with class teachers to establish a topic students will be studying which a practical look on may benefit. Each term we work towards a short performance to show parents what the children have been doing throughout the term.

KEY STAGE 2

KS2 classes are run very similarly to that of the KS1 classes, the children are often more involved in choosing the dance style and choreography they would like to do. These classes are very popular and have proven to be an excellent way to engage boys in particular in the arts.

KEY STAGE 3

G.C.S.E AND A-LEVEL DANCE

Training is currently being taken to offer G.C.S.E and A-level Dance, so will be available soon. However, we do teach the BTEC Dance Course, please contact for more information.

YOUTH CLUBS

TDA offers workshops suitable for various youth groups and youth clubs in Bucks, participants will warm-up to the latest tunes, learn some basic street dance techniques such as locking, popping and breaking, learn a short routine, create some of their own choreography and show off their new skills to the friends and family.

These workshop are great for bringing young people together from all walks of life, all ages and abilities, the have the chance to learn new skills, learn to work as a team, develop leadership skills, gain confidence and most importantly have a great time.

We also offer FREE dance workshops to any unit in Girl Guiding Bucks and are available to hire to perform at guiding events nationally.
