DANCE CLASSES - High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, Chesham, Amersham, Princes Risborough, Thame

Classes at TPAA consist of no more than 15 students, but are often smaller the more advanced the class; they are mixed in gender and age. For most techniques, classes are taken once a week for all students, however extra tuition prior to an examination or for extra practice can be arranged privately or in smaller groups.

CECCHETTI BALLET - Graded exams through I.S.T.D centre

Tuffney Dance Academy teaches Cecchetti Ballet in association with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (I.S.T.D.). The Cecchetti method of Classical Ballet offers a complete and well structured system of training which caters for the small child through to the professional dancer and the future teacher. We train students for graded examinations but are not compulsory, towards the younger end of the Academy ballet classes nurture the creativity and individuality of the the young dancers, whereas the older, more advanced classes take a more serious tone based on Cecchetti principles and provide strength and co-ordination together with a quality of movement and provide the teachings of a professional approach towards each students' studies. Ballet is the core to all dance forms, and provides a sound foundation for all other techniques in dance. It is greatly advised to study ballet as a basis for any further training in different fields of dance.

 

I.S.T.D TAP - Graded exams through I.S.T.D centre

Tap is one of the most enjoyable and rhythmic forms of dance; Tuffney Dance Academy teach I.S.T.D. Tap and we offer a series of examinations from children's grades to vocational qualifications. Our Tap lessons are designed to encourage good rhythm, style and technique.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I.S.T.D MODERN - Graded exams through I.S.T.D centre

Our modern classes are carefully planned to teach students to be able to adapt, develop and evolve with the ever-changing fashion in dance. The I.S.T.D. syllabus aims to train young people to become disciplined and versatile dancers. The children's work is based on natural movements: walking, running, jumping and skipping. It is designed to encourage an imaginative and rapid response from beginners. The Jazz Awards provide a basic grounding in modern jazz, and are ideal for the late beginner or as a recreational course of movement. Boys' work has been developed to meet increasing demands for a modern dance training for boys

 

 

 

STREET DANCE - popping, locking hip-hop and breaking

TDA are proud to offer exciting Street Dance classes to all ages and abilities taught by experienced street dancers. This has proven to be a very popular class especially with the boys. TDA believes that dance is all about expressing the heart of a community and this class definitely fulfills this belief. These cool street dances will teach you to body wave, ripple, lock, pop and break, all the essentials needed to impress on the dance floor! As well as making new friends the street classes are full of energy, style and laughter and are suitable for all.

 

NEW BREAK DANCE CLASSES!

Chesham lesiure Centre - Fridays - 4:30 - 5:15pm

Come along and learn the fundamentals of Break Dance, all the tricks and stunts, from beginner freezes to advanced level windmills and flips

 

CONTEMPORARY DANCE

Contemporary classes at TDA are full of twists, turns, falls, leaps and smiles. This class provides the foundations for further dance training, with particular practice in Release, Graham and Cunningham. We work alongside the I.S.T.D modern syllabus and offer examinations to those that wish to work through the grades, althought this is not essential. We also include in our classes performance techniques and audition practice, although this class is aimed at the more serious dance artist it is open to all at different levels.

 

 

ADULT DANCE FITNESS - pilates , toning, body conditioning

A complete workout program combining the best of dance and fitness! Burn Calories and tone muscle while learning basic dance routines. Dance fitness share the bonus of combining fun with a great cardio workout and core exercises based on pilates and hugely beniefical in reducing blood pressure, scultping a new body, strengthening bones and a having great laugh with new friends.
