Tuffney Dance Academy was set up by Kylie Tuffney in the summer of 2008; with a lot of determination, perseverance and courage Kylie has now created a dance academy which will serve the community for many successful years to come. Kylie is an experienced award winning dancer, she has been dancing since she could crawl and has always had a real passion for dance which is reflected in her awards and outstanding achievements. Kylie began her dance training in Ballet, Tap and Modern where she worked through the graded examinations, winning performance medals, competitions and festivals along the way, in 1996 Kylie won the prize for 'Best Modern Dancer', Reading Festival and more recently the 'Outstanding Achievement' Award in 2006.
Kylie began to extend her training, in Contemporary and Street Dance and went on to study GCSE and A-level dance achieving grades in the top 5% in the country. She then went on to further training in dance at the Urdang Academy and Birkbeck University.
Alongside her training Kylie also studied the I.S.T.D. teaching qualifications both the Foundation in Dance Instruction and the Certificate in Dance Education, which has allowed her to teach extra curricular dance in both state and private schools within Bucks including, Pipers Corner School and Holmer Green Senior School.

- Shift 2007 and 2008, at London Contemporary Dance

Assisting the leading contemporary dance choreographer, Richard Alston in the making of some new dance project for youth dancers
- Choreographing and appearing in an MTV music video 'Hotta Flames' in 2008
- Appearing in hundreds of dance performances across the country, such as Callaloo (ArtsDepot), London Variety Performance (HM's Theatre), Hang-10 (Sadlers Wells), Fresh 2006 (Robin Howard Theatre) and many more
- Working closely with famous dance companies like Union Dance, Tavaziva and Springs Dance Company performing with them and delivering workshops and classes. |
